OUR LATEST FAVORITE REVIEW

Missing taking classes.  I had a neighborhood brunch today, and totally from scratch, I designed two unique arrangements on my own.  I know that sounds really insignificant, but I didn't use the templates that we've used for any of the classes - just the basic theory, so I had to really think it through and make arrangements from grocery store bundles.  It was a bit daunting, but I was so excited at what I would have done 6 months ago and the really pretty designs I came up wtih on my own. So, Thank you!!! Night and day difference, let me assure you!!!  Got LOTS of compliments.

As for classes, I want to sign up for three more!

This was an amazing 3 week class!  I loved taking the classes all together because it really helped as you heard information and could build on what you have already learned.  I highly recommend this program to everyone.  I loved the flowers, the teachers, and making new friend!

As I former student of the Houston School of Floral Design I can not say enough about my experience in class and the current working relationships that are still developing as a result of my time at HSFD. Jim, Kristie, Angela and Elena are an incredible team of professionals that truly are passionate about flowers and obviously love what they do.

Regardless of your skill level or ability there is something for everyone at HSFD. I have been so honored to continue to work with my fellow students as I have done volunteer work on behalf of HSFD for various charities in the Houston area. Those bonds and relationships have proven to be priceless to me in the last several months as I have ventured out as a freelance designer.

I have so valued the support system that the school has afforded to me as I continue to pursue my own passion and am grateful for the invaluable resource that they continue to be to me. Whether you choose to experience Angela's Favorites class or immerse yourself in 3 weeks of intensive floral design, I promise you, all of those little dollars signs are well spent.

One of my many favorite things about the atmosphere of HSFD is the energy and excitement that all the staff generate around flowers and the floral industry. There is a can do attitude in the classes, a place where anyone from the ages of 2 to 92 would walk away with a sense of accomplishment and confidence. All the teachers at the school facilitate an atmosphere within the classroom that helps you to realize that you just cant make a mistake where flowers are concerned. I love how Angela finds the things that she loves in each one of her student's designs. There is a very personal and family type atmosphere, that as I mentioned before, has generated relationships that I am still developing outside of the classroom.

At a time in my life where there was so much question in my career path, HSFD helped to guide and steer me so that I could help find my new path that was ahead of me. For that I am truly grateful and will not soon forget.

SIRE and I are so thankful for the help provided by the Houston Floral School. The staff and the students were terrific in assisting with the SIRE floral decorations.

SIRE is horseback riding lessons for handicapped people of all ages with three locations in the Houston area. The annual Gala was held on May 7, 2011, Kentucky Derby Day, at the Sam Houston Race Track.

I contacted the Floral School in January asking for help in making floral table decorations for the SIRE Gala. Angela stated that she would pass along the information to the students and thought that there might be some students interested in volunteering their time and skills. Angela was very thoughtful to remind SIRE that it was Mother's Day weekend and to make sure SIRE was on top of ordering flowers. Angela suggested several tips during the planning phase of the floral decorations to assure that the visual aspects of the Gala would proceed smoothly.

The Floral School had a few students that helped and this was great. I worked with Treschelle Brown as a liaison and Treschelle worked endlessly with the decoration chair and volunteers from start to finish. Three days before the event, she taught the volunteers how to prepare 96 dozen roses and various other flowers to have them ready for the center pieces and other floral decorations for the Gala. Treschelle truly demonstrated that she knows how to order, prepare and design flower arrangements. She planned and executed her designs and was able to make adjustments to her plan when a problem or glitch arose.

The SIRE Gala had over 60 tables and several bar areas to be decorated with flowers. Her designs were eye catching and made the room look wonderful. Treschelle had the ability to direct and organize everyone who was helping her. I cannot say enough about the quality and the skill level she demonstrated to everyone involved with the floral arrangements. She truly is a professional Floral Designer. SIRE was so very lucky to have made a connection with Treschelle and to have had her volunteer her time, skills and unselfish efforts to make the SIRE Gala a truly beautiful event.

As you know, Heather and I chose to come to Houston because of the experience and credentials of your program.  We were not disappointed!

The classes have been wonderful, as an educator myself, I appreciate your instructor's knowledge and approach to teaching. The instructors skillfully covered the elements of floral design and shop management.  Their love and passion for the profession clearly came through in the presentations.  I will miss the warmth, humor and most of all the professionalism and attention to detail of the instructors.  The choices in flowers used in class were exceptional and added depth to the overall experience.

I found the Houston School of Floral Design by looking up Floral Design schools through the American Floral Design Association. I chose your school over several others because of your instructors experience and credentials. I also like the class content for each of the classes offered.

Being from Toledo, Ohio and traveling to Houston for two weeks to attend the school has been 100% worth the trip!  I feel very honored to be taught by the instructors because the staff is so knowledgeable, patient, thorough and talented.  They all teach from the heart and relate their personal experiences to all aspects of floral design.  I also love how we have been taught using design concepts and terms.

I am so very grateful to have had the opportunity to learn using the most beautiful and quality flowers.  It was a great benefit to have that exposure.  The experience has been FANTASTIC and the instructors have inspired me to move ahead in the floral industry.
