Description: In this 10 hour course you will be introduced to the primary tasks necessary to be an entry level employee in a full service flower shop. We will emphasize customer service, designing for speed and accuracy, processing flowers and shop cleanliness. We would never recommend you open your own business without getting some experience first. This course will help you understand the basic tasks of working in a flower shop.
Upon completion you will have a good understanding of what it takes to be a great employee in flower shop.
This is a hands-on course. You will be taught how to make arrangements and then will have the opportunity to make them on your own.
Topics to be covered include: Greening vases and containers, making bows, taking orders over the telephone and in person, cleaning, processing flowers, creating arrangements and completing paperwork.
Prerequisite: You must have completed or currently be enrolled in 101, 102 and 103 to enroll in this class. Exemptions are offered to students who have current or previous shop experience.
